YouTube has become one of the most important measures of music consumption in Jamaica, and the historical numbers from the platform’s Jamaica weekly chart paint a revealing picture of what the country has been watching and listening to.

Based on total streams accumulated in the YouTube Jamaica Weekly Chart statistics since September 2014, dancehall is overwhelmingly the dominant genre among the 100 biggest songs as of September 2026.

Reggae shares space with American R&B and hip-hop, African music, gospel and other international releases, demonstrating just how broad the Jamaican YouTube audience has become.

At the very top is Skeng’s “Protocol,” with 13,489,578 local streams, making it the most-streamed title in the supplied historical Top 100. Chronic Law’s “Empty” follows with 12,332,059, while Moliy’s “Shake It To The Max (FLY) (Remix)” is third with 11,751,422.

Ireland Boss’ “V6,” Jamal’s “Ballandor,” jaame.sss’ “Beloved and Blessed (Reggae Version)” featuring Skatta Lopa and Kraff Gad’s “IKATION” are also members of the exclusive 10-million-stream club.

Perhaps the biggest surprise near the top is gospel star CeCe Winans. Her “Come Jesus Come” has accumulated 10,001,030 streams, while “Goodness Of God – Live” has 9,487,873. She has another entry, “Holy Forever (Live),” further down the Top 100.

That is not an isolated gospel phenomenon. Tasha Cobbs Leonard places three songs on the list — “Gracefully Broken (Live),” “Fill Me Up (Medley)” and “You Know My Name (Live)” — showing that Christian and gospel music has a viewing audience on Jamaican YouTube alongside dancehall.

A relatively concentrated group of modern Jamaican artists has generated enormous repeat consumption on YouTube.

As a lead artist, Masicka has the most entries in the supplied Top 100, with seven: “Whites,” “Rich Sex,” “Tyrant,” “History,” “Suicide Note,” “Mute” and “Moments.” His footprint becomes even larger when collaborations are considered: he is featured on Shenseea’s “Hit & Run” and appears with Teejay on “Never Complain.”

Chronic Law is similarly pervasive. His six lead entries are “Empty,” “Walk With Faith,” “NY Girls,” “Legend,” “Don’t Fall” and “Solemn Request.” He additionally appears as a featured artist on Popcaan’s “St. Thomas Native.”

Valiant also has six lead entries: “Passenger Princess,” “Lumbah,” “North Carolina,” “Narcissistic,” “Dunce Cheque” and “Expensive.”

Skeng Owns the No. 1 Song

Skeng holds the biggest individual title in the dataset.

“Protocol” has generated 13,489,578 streams, nearly 1.16 million more than second-place “Empty.” It spent 42 weeks on the Jamaica YouTube weekly chart, peaked at No. 1 and reached No. 1 eight times according to the supplied data.

Skeng is hardly a one-song presence. “Gvnman Shift,” “Heaven Passport” and “Talibhan” also reached No. 1, while his four lead entries in this Top 100 collectively demonstrate the enormous YouTube audience he developed during his rise.

“Protocol” also recorded a peak weekly streaming figure of 946,954 — one of the largest figures represented in the list.

Biggest Songs That Never Reached No. 1

Chronic Law’s “Empty” is particularly noteworthy because of its combination of scale and staying power.

While pulling 12,332,059 total streams and 44 chart weeks, the song never reached No. 1, peaking at No. 2, yet accumulated more streams than dozens of chart-toppers. 

TeeJay’s “From Rags to Riches” provides another example. It spent 43 weeks on the chart and accumulated 7,083,364 streams despite peaking at No. 2.

The Biggest Streaming Weeks

Among the supplied figures, Tarrus Riley’s “Lighter” has the largest peak-week total at 1,237,843 streams. Masicka’s “Suicide Note” reached 973,019 in its peak week, while Shenseea’s “Hit & Run” featuring Masicka and Di Genius reached 968,386.

Skeng’s “Protocol” peaked at 946,954, RajahWild’s “Gogo” at 932,992 and Silk Boss’ “Sorry” at 915,069.

These numbers illustrate the difference between a song’s lifetime performance and its moment of maximum cultural intensity. A title can have a massive opening or viral period without ultimately becoming the most-streamed song historically.

Koffee Shows Reggae’s Staying Power

Modern reggae is also represented prominently.

Koffee has two entries: “Lockdown,” with 7,990,807 streams, and her international breakthrough “Toast,” with 5,646,022.

“Lockdown” reached No. 1 and posted a peak week of 774,982 streams. “Toast” accumulated its total across 34 chart weeks, showing the long-term appeal that helped make it one of Koffee’s defining recordings.

Tarrus Riley’s “Lighter” is another major reggae-associated entry, reaching 5,883,644 total streams while producing the largest listed peak week in the entire Top 100.

Jamaica’s Audience Is International

Although Jamaican artists dominate, the chart is not exclusively Jamaican.

Chris Brown appears with “Residuals” and “Under The Influence.” Rod Wave places “25” and “Street Runner.” Khalid appears with “Better” and as a featured artist on Toosii’s “Favorite Song (Remix).” Muni Long makes the Top 100 with “Made For Me.”

Burna Boy’s “Last Last” represents the enormous international reach of Afrobeats, accumulating 6,212,526 streams and reaching No. 1 in Jamaica.

Moliy’s “Shake It To The Max (FLY) (Remix)” goes even further. With 11,751,422 streams, it ranks third overall in the supplied historical table and reached No. 1 five times.

The YouTube Generation of Jamaican Music

Perhaps the most revealing feature of the Top 100 is the generation of artists that dominates it.
