Usher

Grammy winning superstar Usher is set to headline the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, presented by Apple Music. The highly anticipated game is scheduled for February 11, 2024, and will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, marking the first time the Super Bowl is held in the city.

The iconic singer, hailing from Atlanta, expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

Several promo videos were released on Sunday featuring Kim Kardashian, Odell Beckham Jr.

Usher’s 9th studio album “Coming Home,’ will be released on February 11, his first since 2016’s “Hard II Love,” which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The Billboard Chart topper boasts an impressive musical career with 18 top 10 hits on the Hot 100, including nine No. 1s, featuring chart-toppers like “U Got It Bad,” “Yeah!” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris, “My Boo” with Alicia Keys, and “OMG” featuring will.i.am. This lineup has fans eagerly speculating about potential special guest appearances. Additionally, he has achieved four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 throughout his career.

Rihanna performing at the Super Bowl 2023

Earlier this year, Rihanna‘s Super Bowl performance crashed Twitter as the Barbadian beauty ended her set with ‘Diamonds’ while elevated ‘in the sky.’ Speculations on whether or not the now mother of 2 was pregnant  took the top trending spot.

The Beauty products Billionaire performed for 13 minute and all throughout advertised her Fenty brands.

Seth Dudowsky, the head of music for the NFL, commented, “Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career; we couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.” The NFL’s partnership with Roc Nation for producing the Halftime Show has yielded memorable performances in recent years.

This year marks the fifth year of collaboration between the NFL and Roc Nation for the Halftime Show, with previous acts including Shakira and Jennifer Lopez (2020), The Weeknd (2021), a star-studded hip-hop showcase featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar (2022), and Rihanna (2023).

JAY-Z, co-founder of Roc Nation, praised Usher, saying, “Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul.”

Notably, this will be the second year that the halftime show is presented by Apple Music, following a decade of Pepsi sponsorship. The 2023 Rihanna performance, which included her announcement of pregnancy with A$AP Rocky, became the most-watched halftime show of all time.

Recent Super Bowl headliners include: 2022: Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. & Kendrick. 2021: The Weeknd, 2020: Shakira & JLo, 2019: Maroon 5, 2018: Justin Timberlake, 2017: Lady Gaga, 2016: Coldplay, 2015: Katy Perry, 2014: Bruno Mars, 2013: Beyoncé, and  2012: Madonna.

Apple’s vp of Apple Music, Apple TV+, sports, and Beats, Oliver Schusser, emphasized the global reach of the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, stating, “We’re excited to bring this legendary show to fans all over the world in Spatial Audio, along with tons of exclusive videos, interviews, playlists, and so much more across Apple Music.”

The show’s production will be handled by DPS, with executive producers Roc Nation and Jesse Collins, and will be directed by Hamish Hamilton.
