The official music video for “Temperature,” the RIAA certified triple Platinum hit by Sean Paul has surpassed 400 million views on YouTube, 14 years after its October 26, 2009 release on the platform.
The Director X video reached the milestone on Monday January 1, 2024. “Temperature” produced by Rohan “Snowcone” Fuller on the Applause Riddim, and released a single on December 5, 2005. It was the second US single (Third Worldwide) from Sean’s third studio album “The Trinity” released on September 29, 2005 by VP/Atlantic Records.
The album also spawned the singles “Ever Blazin'” (2005) and “Never Gonna Be the Same” (2006).
“Temperature” peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 10 in Canada and France, and the top 20 in Australia and the United Kingdom.
The song is certified 3x Platinum in the US for selling 3,000,000 units by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
It also earned Gold certifications in Australia (ARIA) for reaching 35,000 units in sales, Denmark (IFPI Danmark) with 4,000 units sold, Italy with 10,000 units sold. The Japan Recording Industry Association (RIAJ) granted the song Gold status for reaching 100,000 units in sales and in Switzerland (IFPI Switzerland) awarded Gold certification for 20,000 units sold.
In Canada, it earned an impressive 3× Platinum certification from Music Canada, signifying 240,000 units sold. The United Kingdom (BPI) recognized the song’s immense popularity with a 2× Platinum certification, indicating 1,200,000 units sold.
Temperature was the second most streamed dancehall song on Spotify for 2023.
