2 Chainz has announced the release of his first memoir, a book that will chronicle both his rise in hip hop and the spiritual foundation that has guided him along the way.

Titled The Voice In Your Head Is God, the memoir will trace the Atlanta rapper’s journey from his early days as Tity Boi to becoming one of the most distinctive voices in rap, underscoring how faith and intuition shaped his career. The book is scheduled to be published in March 2026.

“I want to share the spiritual journey behind my success in a raw, uncut and motivational way,” 2 Chainz said in a statement. “This is for anyone with a dream and a vision who struggles, or doubts their intuition. I wouldn’t be here now without that voice.”

The memoir will be released through Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Privilege Publishing, an imprint of Atria Books. The radio host praised the project, calling it “a story of perseverance. A story of reinvention. This book will remind you that when GOD tells you to do something, it must be done, even if you have to reinvent yourself a few times to do it.”

A press release adds that the book is “more than a memoir” and instead offers “a way of thinking, of trusting yourself and of listening to the voice that never steers you wrong.”

The announcement comes shortly after 2 Chainz shared anecdotes about his recording experiences with Eminem, including being banned from smoking weed in the studio during their collaborations on tracks like “Chloraseptic” and “Kyrie & Luka.” Despite the restrictions, Chainz described the sessions as inspiring and said Eminem himself was unfazed by the rules enforced by his team.

Born Tauheed Epps in College Park, Georgia, 2 Chains first rose to prominence as part of the duo Playaz Circle, best known for their 2007 hit “Duffle Bag Boy” featuring Lil Wayne. After signing with Def Jam in 2012, he broke out as a solo artist with his feature on Kanye West’s “Mercy” and hit singles like “No Lie” (with Drake), “Birthday Song” (with Kanye West), and “I’m Different.” His debut album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Over the years, 2 Chainz built a reputation for blending commercial success with critical recognition, releasing albums such as B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time (2013), ColleGrove with Lil Wayne (2016), Pretty Girls Like Trap Music (2017), Rap or Go to the League (2019), So Help Me God! (2020), and Dope Don’t Sell Itself (2022). In 2023, he reunited with Lil Wayne for the collaborative project Welcome 2 Collegrove. He left Def Jam in 2024, continuing his career as one of Southern hip hop’s most distinctive voices.

Fans eager to get their hands on The Voice In Your Head Is God will need to wait until March 2026, but pre-orders are now live.
