Shenseea Says She Is Not Feeling The Love From The Reggae And Dancehall Community, Says She Is Now Restarting Her Career

Shenseea has not taken lightly to Bobby Shmurda’s recent comments about her level of freakiness. The Lick singer was a guest on The Brandon Gomez Show in Toronto and she used the opportunity to clarify her feelings on Bobby’s recent claim that she is not “freaky enough.”

“I saw it and i was like Bobby you like the niggas that’s all talk,” the Blessed singer said to the Toronto online show host.

She wanted to make it clear how serious she was about her response even though Bobby had said he was joking.

“Let me tell you cause Bobby is a fan of me, and I love bobby because you know he is outspoken, funny, he doesn’t care about people, I love his attitude so it’s not like we beefing or anything.”

Brandon then interjected to remind her that he said he was joking, but the Trick Or Treat singer wasn’t phased.

“Bobby i am not joking, you do look like the nigga that’s all talk.”

The Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda had made comments to DJ Akademics when he was asked him if he’d do a song with Shenseea to which he said “Shenseea she is not freaky enough for me.” He then quickly rescinded by saying “Nah I am playing I am playing.”

AK then said in disbelief, “What you mean? Shenseea?

Bobby then said “I like a nasty girl”, before breaking out in Vybz Kartel lyrics for “Freaky Girl a dem gyal de me love.”

Podcaster Akademics then said,” Shenseea is a different type of freak though.”

To which Shmurda answered, “She is sweet, I feel like she is sweet.”

Bobby, who is also of Jamaican parentage vowed recently to be celibate for six months, and dropped some very honest context clues on Twitter to help fans understand why.

Without being entirely clear, the 27 year old also tweeted that he is “no longer talking to girls” with tongue piercings, calling it a “new rule.”

Shenseea also said now she is restarting her career, only this time with experience. Her feature heavy album Alpha, released in March has sold less that 20,000 to date after an elaborate marketing rollout and the support of the record label.

Brandon asked if she is feeling the love from home and from the dancehall and the reggae community, and she said, “Not really, if i am being completely honest, they know what I am trying to do, so its like as you said before they wanna keep me, to themselves in dancehall, so its like a lot of people being rebellious, to be honest against it.” The pop hopeful said. She went on to say “In time everybody will come around, because thats how it started when i just came on the scene, people were saying Romeich(her former manager) was forcing me unto the industry, now they don’t want me to leave the industry.”

She also said that she is happy and recently collected a gold plaque for the single Blessed which surpassed 40,000 units in Canada.
