G-Unit rapper 50 Cent says he will be taking his Final Lap Tour to Africa, Jamaica, and Tokyo, Japan. The tour which kicked off on July July 21, 2023, in Salt Lake City has over one hundred dates scheduled. The international leg of the tour which kicked off in Amsterdam at the Ziggy Dome which kicked off September 28, 2023 already consist of 53 confirmed dates taking the “Many Men” rapper all the way to December 21 at the Etihad Arena in the UAE.
At the end of the tour the global superstars is expected to over North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. He is the first rapper to do a solo tour consisting of so many dates worldwide in this century.
50 posted on social media on Tuesday “I still have to hit , Africa, Jamaica, Tokyo, Japan, on this FINAL LAP TOUR 🌎 were else should I go around the world ?”
50 Cent has visited Jamaica several times since his first performance in in Island 20 years ago at the height of his career in 2003 at the Heineken Heatwave with his G-Unit crew. Other artists in that show were Bounty Killer , Wayne Marshall, and a young Vybz Kartel who stamped his mark at the concert with a slew of his early hits.
The Southside Jamaica Queens New York artist headlined Reggae Sumfest in 2006 on July 21 in Montego Bay.
Diageo subsidiary brand Red Stripe was responsible for bring the Diamond selling artist to the island. “Red Stripe is responsible for bringing 50 Cent to Jamaica for Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest,” stated Carlo Redwood, the brand’s then marketing manager. “Our decision to push for his inclusion in the line up this year grew out of our commitment to make this reggae show, the world’s greatest and Jamaica’s best. We thought that by including the rap star, who many Jamaicans admire and love, would only add to the explosive talent at this years showing.”
Other artist on the lineup with 50 at the time were Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, Bounty Killa, Grammy award winners Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Capleton, Beres Hammond, Elephant Man, Baby Cham, Macka Diamond, Busy Signal and Wayne Marshall, Sizzla, Richie Spice, Mobb Deep, Chuck Fenda, Mr. Vegas, Leftside & Esco, Voice Mail, Gyptian, reggae’s legends, John Holt, Gregory Isaacs and and Pam Hall, Yellowman and others.
In 2015 the Power series producer brought his grandfather for vacation in Montego Bay where he was also scouting film locations.
Fans can expect 50’s Final Lap Tour next year in Africa, Jamaica and Jamaica but as of now the only 2024 date confirmed is March 3 at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre on Pheonix Arizona.
The tour which coincides with the celebration of 50 years of Hip Hop and the 20th anniversary of his top selling multi-platinum album Get Rich Or Die Trying. The concert has sold over one million tickets already worldwide and also features Busta Rhymes as well as recent cameo performances by Ed Sheeran in the U.K. where he did three shows.
