10 Songs To Know Before Going To A Burna Boy Concert

Afro-fusion singer Burna Boy has risen through the ranks of music to become a global superstar. With the advent of streaming, making a star and making a hit have become much easier and doesn’t require the constant radio plays like before.

YouTube and other streaming platforms generate hits without one radio play. While Burna Boy does get a fair amount of radio plays for his more popular sing alongs like “Last Last,” the Tony Braxton sampled Billboard chart topper (which could be heard in ever speaker box over the summer), many of his songs are unfamiliar to Caribbean people.

For his upcoming concert he is expected to perform about 40 songs from start to finish and of course the many hardcore Burna Boy fans will be singing word for word. Others will just enjoy the music. A few persons tweeted that they’ll be going to see the African Giant but they only know two of his songs.

WMV is here to help those people catch up on their Burna Boy essentials and also remind the rest of his catalogue.

2012s “Like to Party”, is Burna Boy’s first popular song. It’s the the lead single from his debut studio album, L.I.F.E which was released the following year. That’s an essential part of his story and he’s expected to perform that song.

In 2017, Burna signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the United States and Warner Music Group internationally.

That year he released the song “Rock Your Body” which is also currently part of his set list as performed at Madison Square Garden.

2017 marked the beginning of his journey towards global dominance after signing the deal. Now in his set are also the following songs from the “Twice A Tall” Album.

From the African Giant album:

Burna hardly if ever brings out anyone to join him and his band onstage. He however, performs songs that feature other people and songs that he is a featured artists.

“Enjoy Yourself” with the deceased rapper Pop Smoke is one such song in his set.

Songs that are sure to set the stadium on fire are Kilometer, Ye, Location, Toni Ann Singh and Its Plenty which he shot the music video on during a love concert.

Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” is currently charting is 69 countries.
