“Bob Marley: One Love” Nominated For Best Movie At The 2024 BET Awards

Paramount’s “Bob Marley: One Love” movie is nominated for a 2024 BET Award. The biopic, based on the life of reggae’s biggest superstar, is nominated for Best Movie alongside “American Fiction,” “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” “The Book of Clarence,” “The Color Purple,” “The Equalizer 3,” and “The Little Mermaid.”

“Bob Marley: One Love” starring Kingsley Ben Adir earned $96,893,170 in domestic earnings between its February 14 release date and April 25, which accounts for 54.7% of the total revenue. International receipts totaled $80,300,000, representing 45.3% of the combined worldwide earnings sum of $177,193,170 according to Boxofficemojo.

Drake nominated for 7 BET Awards 2024

After a tumultuous past week in a rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, Drake emerges as the frontrunner in nominations for the 2024 BET Awards, securing seven nods amid recent personal challenges. His album “For All the Dogs (Scary Hours Edition)” is up against Victoria Monét’s “Jaguar II,” Killer Mike’s “Michael,” which won a Grammy for best rap album, Chris Brown’s 11:11, Gunna’s A Gift & A Curse, 21 Savage’s American Dream, Usher’s Coming Home, and Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 for Album of the Year.

Minaj has six nominations, the most for any female artist at this year’s awards. Other notable nominees include J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, and Victoria Monét, each with five nominations, while several artists, including Beyoncé and Usher, receive four nods.

Drake and Burna Boy are both up for best male R&B/pop artist and best male hip-hop artist.

The awards ceremony, renowned as Culture’s Biggest Night, is set to broadcast live from Los Angeles on June 30, featuring performances by GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, and others.

This BET Awards 2024, will air LIVE on BET on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 8 PM ET/ PT and the Paramount owned company says this year there will be more inclusion of international acts and emerging talents, highlighting the global scope of the awards. The event will be overseen by industry professionals and influencers, with voting for the Viewer’s Choice Award scheduled to begin on June 6.
