Dancehall artist Skeng had the place in a euphoric state as he belted out his gunman lyrics at the National Park for the Baderation event. Skeng, 21, who started his set wearing a sweat short suit was shirtless and shoeless by the time he got to his No. 1 song Protocol. The energy of his 15 minute set lifted when the Spanish Town artist threw water on the engaged patrons. They in turn responded with fire torches as others sang word for word his 1st Class produced hit.
Things took a dangerous turn as shots rang out amidst the euphoria in support of the young DJ and that was when Skeng was escorted off the stage. A stampede ensued and patrons scurried to exit the venue.

Although it looked more like 5000, Skeng’s PR team told World Music Views it was confirmed that 12,000 people were inside the jam packed venue.
“After talks with Rawl from Hits and Jams promotions this morning I can confirm that there was over 12k people at the event and it was streamed.”

Regarding the shots that rang out towards the end of his performance, his management told World Music Views,
“Last night Skeng set history. It’s safe to say Guyana music scene is dominated by dancehall and several artist from dancehall have performed there, however last nights statistics, audience and reactions are proof that the fresh sound is dominating the genre.”
They further commented, “There were no injuries or fatalities.”
Reports on social media showed someone commenting that there was blood on the ground and a bar got robbed amidst the chaos.

Skeng is on a tour of the Eastern Caribbean islands after making a stop in the UK recently. He is scheduled to be in Trinidad tonight.
Just last week the artist was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport after being pepper sprayed by port security.
The London artist Attorney Christopher Townsend, told World Music Views, “It was a simple thing that got outta hand. What happened from the information that I received, the artist had checked all the way to the gate, there was an item that could not go in his luggage on the plane, his hand luggage, he was asked to remove it in compliance with the rules and regulations that govern international flights.”
The DJ was offered bail on his own surety and is set to appear in a Kingston Court on June 21.
Protocol with Sparta (Tommy Lee) is the No. 1 most streamed song in Guyana on YouTube. London is the 8th most streamed song on both YouTube and Apple Music in that country.
Meanwhile, Skeng was mistaken for Skillibeng by a radio personality on 94.1 Boom FM in Guyana. The ill-informed host said to Skeng mid interview,
“I notice you now big on social media right now, too much people touching down with Skeng now, yesterday or the day before I think you had some work done with DJ Khaled.”
Skeng responded with a simple, “Nah”. The host insisted, “No? It was you?”
“No man it’s not me,”Skeng answered assuredly.
Without shame the host then said, “Its him,” then went on to say “my bad, wrong one” with an awkward laugh.
Skeng seemingly disturbed by the question gave a sarcastic ‘teeth showing’ as the radio host tried to recover from his gaff.
The interview went on as Skeng promoted the show and dropped a short freestyle.
