Alborosie ‘Destiny’ Album First Week Numbers Are In

Alborosie’s 9th solo studio album “Destiny” has earned 200 album equivalent unites over its lifetime, including 160k streams and 100 pure album copies according to data provided to WMV by Luminate. Additionally, ‘Destiny’ sold 100 pure album copies in its first week and recorded 123k streams in the US over the same period.

The album released by VP records features Buju Banton, Kabaka Pyramid, Burro Banton, Jaz Elize, Ezhel. The sales and streams earned so far in the US were not enough to give top selling reggae artist a debut on the Billboard Top Ten Reggae Albums chart this week.

The lead single for the 14 track roots rock reggae album “Viral” is a tongue in cheek critique of the current state of social media and Jamaican music. In the video which has surpassed 285k streams on YouTube, the Shengen singer quips “who freak out like Stallion fi get the Medallion.”

Alborosie is currently on tour to support the project, making stops in the US and Europe.
