Dancehall DJ Akaline’s latest project “The Ripple EFFX” – EP sold just over 600 units in its first week in the U.S. and missed the Billboard reggae top ten. However the album peaked at No. 1 on the US Reggae iTunes chart and climbed to the top 10 on the US all genres iTunes chart. It however slipped to No. 116 within 24 hours.
Currently the album lingers on the Apple Music and iTunes Charts in 16 Caribbean countries and Gambia.
On iTunes the 6 track EP is at #16 Gambia, #25 Grenada, and #31 Barbados.
Meanwhile on Apple Music it comes in at #5 in Jamaica, #7 Antigua and Barbuda, #7 St. Vincent and The Grenadines, #12 Saint Kitts and Nevis, #14 Bermuda, #22 Guyana, #25 Trinidad and Tobago, #41 Anguilla, #41 St. Lucia, #91 Barbados, #96 Gambia, #98 Turks and Caicos.
In May 2021, Alkaline‘s second album Top Prize debuted on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart at No. 2, selling 2,957units in its first week. Luminate data reveals that the album, which includes songs like Hostage, Cree, and Ocean Wave,sold a total of 17,000 units in 2021. The Ripple EFFX is Alkaline‘s fifth EP after 123, Gone Away F*ck You in 2014, andRide or Die in 2015.
