All 3 Tracks from Drake’s ‘100GIGS’ Set to Debut on the Billboard Hot 100

Drake’s, “Blue Green Red,” has already racked up over 7 million streams on Spotify and is set to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated August 23 at #63. The song features an interpolation of Tiger’s 1991 hit “When,” but Republic Records released it without getting permission from “When” producers Steely and Clevie or Tiger.

Danny Pepperseed, Steely and Clevie’s manager, told WMV on Sunday that negotiations are underway to sort out the necessary credits and compensation after they were only contacted the date the song was released.

“Blue Green Red” is part of Drake’s “100gigs” set, which also includes “It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage and “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto. Both tracks are also expected to hit the Hot 100 this week at 23# and #85 respectively. The set was released on August 10 by Drake’s label after scrubbing the internet of leaks.

When “Blue Green Red” charts, it will be Tiger’s first career credit on the Billboard Hot 100. Steely and Clevie have had Billboard Hot 100 credits before, with Dawn Penn’s “No No No” reaching No. 58 in April 1994 and Sean Paul’s “I’m Still In Love With You” featuring Sasha peaking at No. 14.

Tiger’s notable international collaboration, “T’ings Nah Go So,” with the Fat Boys, was released on Mercury/Polygram Records as part of their 1989 album “On And On.” The album peaked at No. 175 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 52 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop albums chart.
