As Oscar winner Will Smith deals with the industry fallout as a result of him slapping Chris Rock at the Academy Awards two Sundays ago, Alsina dropped a new song that references ‘entanglement’ and is also in a bidding war with publishers about a tell-all book.
Jada Pinkett Smith, 50, famously referred to the years-long affair with the R&B singer , 29, as an ‘entanglement’ to husband Will Smith on her Red Table Talk show on Facebook Watch.
In the song August seems to compare the trio’s relationship to that of Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange’s elevator fight scene to his involvement with the Smith’s relationship.
“Of course some s**t is gonna go down when you got a billion dollars on a elevator/Well, of course some s**t is bound to go down when you tangled up with the world’s favorite,” August is heard crooning in a snippet on his Instagram page.
‘August is getting ready to sign a big money book deal which will detail his romantic liaisons with Jada,’ a source claims to The Sun.
The source close to August said his story was at the centre of a bidding war between publishers and “August is getting ready to sign a big money book deal which will detail his romantic liaisons with Jada”.
He reportedly will detail ‘his time with Jada and will also speak about how he spent time living in homes owned by Will when he was away filming.’
‘He has always maintained that Will gave him permission to sleep with Jada, something they have publicly denied.’
Last year, Will confirmed that he and Jada have an open relationship, admitting that she has ‘never believed in a conventional marriage’ while promoting his own memoir WILL.
Jada said she became close to August – who she met through her son Jaden. She has denied his claim that Will had given his blessing over their relationship and insisted they were separated at the time.
Jada had initially denied August’s claims they were an item, until she eventually confessed saying ‘there’s some healing that needs to happen… so I’m bringing myself to the Red Table.’
‘Healing’ is a recurring theme for Jada when it comes to relationships because she referenced the word when she broke her silence regarding Will slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Despite laughing about the incident, and going on to party the night away at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, Jada posted the following day: ‘This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.’
Meanwhile, Jada told US Weekly, that she is not “angry with” Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars — but she “wishes he didn’t” get physical with the comedian.
She said, “It was in the heat of the moment and it was him overreacting. He knows that, she knows that. They’re in agreement that he overreacted.”
The pair have been married in since 1997 and have two children together Willow, 21, and Jaden, 23.
