Narrated by Beyoncé, the film features appearances from Blue Ivy and Jay-Z’s longtime hairstylist, offering fans an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the rapper’s transformation leading up to his appearance at Roots Picnic earlier this month. The documentary also captures the painstaking process of detangling his locs, which Beyoncé says took six days to complete.
“Jay started growing his hair because of Blue,” Beyoncé shares in the film. “He wanted her to see the beauty in her natural hair.”
The documentary captures years of hair growth being carefully combed through and transformed, with the Cécred team documenting every stage of the journey.
