Billboard Hot 100: Drake Officially Ties Michael Jackson With 13 No. 1 Hits

Drake earned a remarkable chart milestone by securing the number one position on both the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Hot 100 songs ranking for the week ending October 21, 2023.. The Canadian hip-hop sensation’s latest album, “For All The Dogs,” debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart, amassing over 400,000 equivalent units sold. Simultaneously, one of the album’s tracks, “First Person Shooter,” featuring J-Cole made its debut at the top of the Hot 100 songs chart. It is Cole’s first No. 1 on the Hot 100.

The Ovo Sound artist along with Michael Jackson, are now tied with 13 number one hits each on the chart during their careers.

Before this week, Drake was tied with several other celebrated artists, including Madonna and The Supremes, each with 12 number one hits. Drake had recently matched their record less than a month ago when “Slime You Out,” a collaboration with SZA featured on “For All The Dogs,” debuted at the top of the Hot 100.

Drake’s dominance doesn’t stop at the number one spot; he has seven songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 this week, all from his latest album, “For All The Dogs.” Notably, “IDGAF” with Yeat took the second spot, while “Virginia Beach” started its journey on the chart at number three.

In his home country Canada “For All The Dogs” is also No. 1 on the Canadian Billboard Chart.

FATD is also No. 1 on Apple Music Jamaica.

When it comes to the most number one hits in U.S. history, The Beatles maintain their unrivaled status with a staggering 20 chart-toppers. Mariah Carey comes in second place with an impressive 19 number one hits, followed by Rihanna with 14. Drake is now steadily advancing towards Rihanna’s record.
