Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams (@birdman) joined DJ Akademiks on a livestream to reflect on his journey and success in music ahead of the Barclays stop on YoungBoy NBA’s MASA Tour. During the conversation, Birdman revealed that Cash Money has generated over $3 billion for Universal Records and surpassed one trillion streams.
Looking ahead, Birdman emphasized that it’s time to pass the torch to NBA YoungBoy. “I’ve had that special gift from God for a long time. From Wayne, Drake, Nicki, Hot Boys, Thugger & Future. But it’s YB’s turn now,” he said.
DJ Akademiks also revealed that Birdman has been personally chaperoning YoungBoy on tour, joking, “I’m here so he don’t fck up the money.” According to Birdman, NBA YoungBoy is expected to secure a record deal worth between $200 million and $300 million, signaling a major milestone in the young artist’s career.
