The eagerly awaited feature film, “Bob Marley: One Love,” has just dropped its Original Motion Picture Soundtrack worldwide, courtesy of UMe/Island Records/Tuff Gong.
Currently sitting at No. 3 on the Reggae iTunes chart. The project features 17 iconic tracks from Bob Marley and the Wailers, setting the stage for director Reinaldo Marcus Green’s biographical drama, hitting theaters on Feb. 14.
Curated from Marley’s seminal albums on Island Records including “Catch a Fire,” “Burnin’,” “Rastaman Vibration,” “Exodus,” “Kaya,” and “Uprising,” the soundtrack also includes hits from the multiplatinum compilation album “Legend,” the bestselling reggae album of all time.
For the first time in Dolby Atmos®, mixed by Nick Rives, (who also mixed the albums Legend, Exodus, Catch A Fire, and Burnin’), fans can experience Marley’s classics with unparalleled depth and clarity, bringing every detail of the music to life.
Ziggy Marley reflects on his father’s enduring legacy, in a statement saying , “Bob’s music is filled with consciousness and messages of unity and love. We’re proud to share my father’s story with this film and continue to spread his messages with his music.”
Additionally, on Feb. 14, Tuff Gong/Island Records will drop “Bob Marley: One Love (Music Inspired by the Film),” featuring fresh interpretations of Marley’s classics by Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Jessie Reyes, Bloody Civilian, and Skip Marley.
Dancehall artists Shenseea and Masicka have both recorded music for the release as well.
