The Stir it Up singer who died on May 11, 1981 comes in at No. 9 on the list of Highest Paid Dead Celebrities for 2023 marking his return to the list after a hiatus last year. In 2021, Marley landed at No. 11 on the Forbes list with the exact earnings as this year, and in 2020 he made $14m to land at No. 8.
This year’s Dead Celebrity ranking by the business publication released on October 31, includes pretax earnings from sales, streams, licensing deals and other sources between October 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023, as well as estate acquisitions made or announced during the same period.The No. 1 dead celebrity this year is Michael Jackson who earned $115 million making a return for the first time since 2019.
