Four decades after its release, Bob Marley and The Wailers’ “Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers” continues to cement its place as one of the most enduring albums in music history. The timeless compilation has now spent 300 weeks on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart and an astonishing 907 weeks on the Billboard 200, underscoring Marley’s lasting global influence.

The album, which debuted on the Billboard 200 on August 18, 1984, has since become a cultural touchstone bridging generations, genres, and geographies. It reached its peak position of No. 5 on the Billboard 200 on September 20, 2014, fueled by Marley’s enduring popularity in the digital era and recurring surges in streaming.

On this week’s Billboard Reggae Albums chart, “Legend” sits comfortably at No. 1, continuing its record-setting run for 299 weeks at the top. It remains the longest No. 1 album in the history of the chart.
