“Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers spends a record 200 non consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the US Billboard Reggae Albums chart for the week ending November 17, 2023
This follows the album’s previous milestone two months ago when it reached 800 non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart the week of September 23, 2023. First released on May 8, 1984, Legend has surpassed all other reggae albums in the US, out-streaming and outselling its counterparts. ‘Legend’ has charted for a total of 2,174 nonconsecutive weeks on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Catalogue Albums Chart in the US.
Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ released in 1973 holds the record as the longest charting album in BB200 history, with 984 non-consecutive weeks on the chart.
The Deluxe edition of ‘Legend’ has now garnered over 5 billion streams on Spotify, making it the most-streamed reggae album globally.
This collection features 10 of Bob Marley’s top 40 UK hits, along with three songs by the original Wailers (Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer) released between 1973 and 1983, such as “No Woman, No Cry,” “Buffalo Soldier,” “I Shot the Sheriff,” and “Three Little Birds.” Currently, the album holds the 106th position on the Billboard 200 this week, having peaked at No. 5, marking Marley’s highest-charting US album.
The album is certified 15x Platinum (15 million) in the U.S. by the Recording Industry Association Of America and 14 times Platinum in the U.K. (4,200,000).

Shaggy’s “Best Of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection” holds the No. 2 spot at 241 weeks on the chart,
Sean Paul’s “Dutty Classics Collection” at No. 3, with 170 weeks and his triple platinum album “Dutty Rock,” is in the fourth position, charting for 209 weeks.
Bob Marley And The Wailers’ “Catch A Fire” re-enters the chart at the fifth position after Island Records released the anniversary 3 CD edition last week. Making it 25 weeks on the chart.
UB40’s “Greatest Hits” takes the sixth spot, with 269 weeks on the chart.
“Wisdom” by Stick Figure is in seventh place, charting for 61 weeks and “Set In Stone” secures the eighth position, having charted for 278 weeks, the longest running album on the chart.
“World On Fire” by Stick Figure ranks and number nine, with 219 weeks on the chart.
Byron Messia’s “No Love” slips to number ten, charting for 22 weeks.
