Buju Banton and Beres Hammond return with their Intimate Concert on January 4, 2025. The announcement was made on Tuesday August 20 via Instagram, by Hammond saying, “Hey family, Saturday Jan. 4th I will be live in JAMAICA 🇯🇲 alongside @bujubanton New Year’s Weekend your’e in for a special night!”
It is not yet known where the bi-annual event will be staged but it will be staged four days after Vybz Kartel’s return concert in Jamaica. The inaugural Intimate concert was held at Plantation Cove St. Ann but was affected by a pile up of traffic for over 10 miles. Tarrus Riley, Marcia Griffiths and LUST also performed on the show.
Banton and Beres are both on their individual tours and will be making stops in South Florida this weekend. The Overcomer Tour by Banton, his first full U.S. tour in more than ten years makes its first stop on August 23 at the Amerant Bank Arena in Fort Lauderdale. That tour ends o November 17 in Brooklyn New York. The tour initially had scheduled stops on September 12, 15, 18, and 29, covering stops at the Toyota Center in Houston and the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas; the Footprints Center in Phoenix, Arizona; the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California; and the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. However, those dates have been rescheduled and the San Jose leg of the tour, originally scheduled for September 23 at the SAP Center, has been canceled.
While the final two dates of Hammond’s “Forever Giving Thanks Tour” is scheduled for two nights on August 24 and 25 at the Broward Center.
Elsewhere, Shenseea sold out HISTORY in Toronto on Monday (August 19) for the second stop of her “Never Gets Late Here Tour.” The tour promoted by Live Nation was moved from the 1500 capacity venue Danforth Music Hall to HISTORY (2500) due to demand.
Reggae singer Alborosiealso takes his touring set across Europe, after perming in Rototom on Monday. He heads to Italy with performances at Parco Isola dell’Unione in Chioggia on August 22, Parco dei Due Ponti in Marina Di Altidona on August 25, and Beky Bay in Igea Marina on August 29. The “For The Culture” artist then heads to Slovakia for the Uprising Festival in Bratislava on August 30.
In September, the tour continues with shows in France at La Luciole in Alençon on September 20, Cabaret Sauvage in Paris on September 21, and LE 112 in Terville on September 27. Additional performances include stops in Switzerland at Le Rez – Usine in Genève on September 22, Germany at Centralstation in Darmstadt on September 26, and France again at Théâtre Lino Ventura in Nice on September 28.
