Nigerian superstar Burna Boy and Saint Kittitian artist Byron Messia single, “Talibans II,” has sold 500,000 equivalent units in the US. The information was revealed on Friday by music industry data platform Chart Data.

The song is the follow up to Messia’s “Talibans,” from his top selling dancehall album “No Love” released January 20, 2023 which is certified Gold in Canada for selling 40,000 units and Silver in the UK for selling 250,000 equivalent units.
“Talibans” soared to the top of Apple Music charts in 13 countries, while the “Talibans II,” was added to Burna Boy’s sixth studio album “I Told Em…,” released July 20, 2023.
The music video for “Talibans II” was shot on location in Jamaica, while Burna Boy was in the Island capturing the artists laid-back moments at a beach-side resort and on a golf course.
“Talibans II” peaked at No. 99 on the Hot 100 chart the week of August 5, 2023 and No. 52 on the Canadian Hot 100. It remained on the Canadian Hot 100 for 7 weeks.
Burna Boy is scheduled to perform at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday on the heels of becoming the first African artist to debut a song on the Hot 100 for four consecutive years (2021-2024).
21 Savage and Brandy will join him on stage for a performance of Billboard Afrobeats Chart No. 1 song “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” live. It will be 21 Savage’s first performance at the Grammys and will be Brandy first since she she performed at the show 1997.
Notably, Burna Boy’s achievements include a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden in 2022, making him the first Nigerian artist to headline the iconic venue. With his continuous success and groundbreaking performances, Burna Boy remains a trailblazer in the music industry.
