Diddy settles with Cassie $30 million dollar lawsuit, one day after she filed a 35 page claim accusing the hip-hop mogul of numerous instances of physical abuse. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed according to the New York Times.

However a statement from Cassie, also known as Casandra Ventura, said, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Sean Combs also released a statement, saying, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

The settlement avoids a potentially legal discovery process for Mr. Combs and spares Cassie from a cross-examination by his attorneys. In the lawsuit, filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan, on Thursday Cassie accused Mr. Combs of years of beatings, controlling behavior, and various forms of sexual abuse, including rape. A lawyer for Mr. Combs, Ben Brafman, vehemently denied these allegations.

According to Cassie’s lawsuit, Mr. Combs assaulted her multiple times, leaving her bloodied and bruised. She claimed that his employees sometimes took her to hotel rooms for days to recover out of the public eye. One of the most disturbing allegations in the suit was that she was forced to participate in sexual encounters with male prostitutes while Mr. Combs watched, masturbated, and recorded videos. These events, referred to as “freak offs,” allegedly took place in high-end hotels across the United States.

The lawsuit that Diddy settles with Cassie also stated that Mr. Combs controlled nearly every aspect of Cassie’s life, including her homes, car, clothes, and personal medical records. Cassie’s $30 million lawsuit claimed she never went to the police out of fear that it would give Mr. Combs another excuse to hurt her.

Cassie and Diddy began their relationship when she was 19 and he was 37 in 2007 after being introduced by her then boyfriend Ryan Leslie.

They were together for nearly a decade, before finally ending their relationship for the last time in 2018.

In her lawsuit she stated that she “found herself becoming numb to the abuse she was experiencing, and became entirely beholden to Mr. Combs’s demands,” the suit read. “She began to blindly follow his instructions out of fear of again being on the receiving end of a vicious beating.”

In a statement to PEOPLE, Diddy’s lawyer Brafman stated , “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. Mrs. Ventura $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.”

The statement continued, “Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’ reputation, and seeking a pay day.”

Cassie married personal trainer Alex Fine in 2019 with whom she shares two children with him.
