Chronic Law’s “Empty” has dethroned Skeng’s “Protocol” to claim the title of the most streamed song on YouTube Jamaica of all time.
According to the latest data curated by World Music Views with data from YouTube Jamaica, as of February 20, 2024, “Empty” by Chronic Law has amassed an impressive total of local 13.6 million views, surpassing the previous record holder, Skeng’s “Protocol,” featuring Tommy Lee which currently has 13.4 million video views.
“Empty” released Jul 13, 2022 garners an average of 359,786 streams per week in the island and globally has surpassed 27 million views. The Law boss has a total of 9 songs in the top 100 list.
While Skeng’s “Protocol,” now moves down to No. 2 released Nov 12, 2021, and has surpassed 70 million views globally. The song previously peaked at #1 for eight consecutive weeks on the YouTube weekly chart which collates weekly streams/views acquired in Jamaica only.
Further down on YouTube’s most streamed songs of all time in Jamaica chart, is Jahshii’s “Born Fighter,” at No. 3, accumulating 13.3 million streams. Malie Donn and Ireland Boss’s “V6” at No. 4 with 12.9 million.
Sony recording artist Valiant, now has multiple videos on YouTube’s top songs of all time chart with “Dunce Cheque” at 5, “North Carolina” and “St. Mary,” at No. 6 and 9 respectively.
In the sea of ‘Trapper Gospel’ tracks, CeCe Winans’s “Goodness Of God – Live,” the only traditional gospel song in the top ten with 11.3 million local streams. Byron Messia’s Hot 100 hit “Talibans” is now the 8th most streamed song on YouTube in Jamaica of all time with 10.8 million views. That song is certified Gold In Canada (40,000) and Certified Silver in the U.K. (200,000).
