Although Reggae singer Chronixx cancelled his New York show recently, he seems not to be missing a beat. The Reggae artist showed off his production skills on Instagram, while saluting his “teacher” U.S Virgin Islands engineer and producer Tippy I.
The “I Can” singer posted a 3 minute and 25 seconds clip of himself adding layers to a reggae dub beat, he captioned:
“Dub university with @tippyigradedub my honorable teacher. 🔥 #letbabylongo #outamiheart #outamisoul. Big respect to the honorable @rasdannyi for this one. One of my favorite @igraderecords vibe”

“Tippy I” is one of the founders of I Grade records known for its unique roots reggae music with hip hop and other influences.
In speaking with World Music Views, Chronixx’s manager Daddi Barnz said, the wait is almost over as Chronixx is currently putting on final touches to his new music.
“Chronixx is currently off the touring grid composing music for his upcoming rereleases. 2017 was his last project and he is actually finalizing to get his new body of work out soon”, he said.
Chronixx’s unprecedented rise to the top of the reggae/dancehall scene came after the release of his collaborative mixtape with Major Lazer-“Start a Fire” in 2013.
After scoring a series of hits from the mixtape such as “Smile Jamaica” and “Here Comes Trouble”, he toured the United Kingdom and the US with his Zincfence Redemption Band. One of the few artist who insists on never leaving his band when performing, as he redefines Reggae’s success metrics.
His debut EP, Dread & Terrible, was released in April 2014, and peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums.
Before releasing an album he scored a performance on the Jimmy Fallon show and pulled a huge crowd at a Central Park concert. Subsequently the EP reached number one on the Billboard Digital Reggae Singles chart according to MRC Data. The EP spent 42 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the Top Reggae Albums chart.
His album Chronology debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae charts and peaked at number 21 on the Sweedish albums chart. Pitchfork gave it an impressive 7.6 out of ten.
