Chronixx Returns With ‘Never Give Up’

Chronixx quietly released new music today April 1 after months of speculations and promising new music.

The Reggae singer cancelled his New York show last December, but the Here Comes Trouble singer seem to be back in the groove with new reggae music.

The 4 minute song Chronixx says is dedicated to the young musicians as well as the old,

“Give thanks for the Rastafari vibration. The positive vibrations that make it possible for youths here in a seemingly chaotic world to sing from our souls into the soul of the world. For all the people who are struggling for peace and against systematic oppression. #nevergiveup the fight for the family. Never give up the fight for love.”

He continued, “This one is for all the young musicians in Jamaica…we have lost so many of our guiding lights here on the physical plane. We are hurting and longing for the word sound of universal truth. Now we have to feel their essence in our creativity and keep the flame alive in the earth. This one is for our elder musicians. You have woven the fiber of who we are…your honor is our honor. We love you. You are our heroes. #nevergiveup my brother @yardmanflo you are full of inspiration. Keep it blazing.”

Never Give Up, is produced by UK based producer Yardman Flow as Chronixx sings on a slow percussion lead rhythm,

How many nights have we spent alone?
Enough just to make it on our own
I know it’s hard with no one to trust
All of us been fighting since the day we were born
Jah know that we will

Last November Chronixx’s manager Daddi Barnz told World Music Views, the wait is almost over as Chronixx is currently putting on final touches to his new music.

“Chronixx is currently off the touring grid composing music for his upcoming rereleases. 2017 was his last project and he is actually finalizing to get his new body of work out soon”, he said.

Chronixx’s unprecedented rise to the top of the reggae/dancehall scene came after the release of his collaborative mixtape with Major Lazer-“Start a Fire” in 2013.

After scoring a series of hits from the mixtape such as “Smile Jamaica” and “Here Comes Trouble”, he toured the United Kingdom and the US with his Zincfence Redemption Band. One of the few artist who insists on never leaving his band when performing, as he redefines Reggae’s success metrics.

His debut EP, Dread & Terrible, was released in April 2014, and peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums.

Before releasing an album he scored a performance on the Jimmy Fallon show and pulled a huge crowd at a Central Park concert. Subsequently the EP reached number one on the Billboard Digital Reggae Singles chart according to MRC Data. The EP spent 42 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the Top Reggae Albums chart.

His album Chronology debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae charts and peaked at number 21 on the Sweedish albums chart. Pitchfork gave it an impressive 7.6 out of ten.
