Iconic Virginia rap duo Clipse has officially signed with Def Jam Records to release their new album, Let God Sort Em Out. This marks Clipse’s return to the music scene as a group, with their last joint project dating back 15 years. While Pusha T has long had a solo deal with Def Jam, the duo decided to partner with the label as a unit for this release, following previous partnerships with labels like Jive and Arista.
The announcement was made on October 28, when Malice posted a photo on Instagram standing in Def Jam’s offices with a TV in the background bearing the message, “Def Jam welcomes Clipse.” He cryptically captioned the post: “A picture’s worth…”
In a recent interview, Pusha T described the new project as a “high taste-level piece of work,” emphasizing that the album is curated rather than filler. Malice echoed this sentiment, calling it “smart basketball” that brings authenticity and growth to their sound. Both members noted that the album showcases their evolution and reflects their commitment to the craft, which they feel has been lacking in the genre.
Produced entirely by Pharrell, Let God Sort Em Out will also feature a rare collaboration with Nas. This guest appearance, described as “sharp” by Rolling Stone, is something Pusha T has pursued for years, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans eager to hear the duo’s progression.
As Clipse readies their return, anticipation is building for what promises to be a landmark release in hip-hop. With Def Jam behind them, Let God Sort Em Out could mark the beginning of a new chapter in the duo’s storied career.
