Damian Marley Earns Gold and Platinum Certifications in Brazil for ‘Welcome to Jamrock’ and ‘Medication’

‘Welcome To Jamrock’ by Damian Marley released by Ghetto Youths/Universal Records is now certified Gold in Brazil for selling 40,000 units in combined streams and sales. The certification was issued by the Pro-Música Brasil (PMB) among over one hundred songs submitted for certification by Universal Records in 2024.

8 million equivalent audio streams or 40,000,000 equivalente video streams also qualifies singles for Gold certification in the country.

Units required for sales certification are based on a multi-metric music consumption system that considers the sum of physical sales, downloads, and audio and video streaming of the same product.

Welcome To Jamrock, released March 15, 2005 is the title track from Damian’s 2006 Grammy Award winning album.

The album has sold 1.2 million units in the U.S. according data provided to World Music Views by Luminate.

Damian also received a Platinum certification for the 2017 track ‘Medication’ featuring his brother Stephen from Grammy winning album Stony Hill. The single has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, his fifth to reach the milestone.
