Reggae singer Da’Ville has returned with a new single and music video titled “Sunshine Days,” released today, Friday, July 18. Distributed by AMP Music and managed by Wendy Morgan of Beautiful People Management, the track marks Da’Ville’s first major release in over a decade, following a long absence from the public eye.
“This is the most personal and spiritual chapter of my journey,” Da’Ville told World Music Views. “‘Sunshine Days’ is about gratitude, love, and walking through life with your head up. The world needs that energy right now.”
The video, directed by Jamaican creative BlingBlang, begins in black and white with a reflective tone. Da’Ville appears inside a sunlit kitchen, strumming a guitar while dressed in a white hooded sleeveless robe. Scenes of palm trees swaying overhead add to the mood of calm introspection. As the music swells, the color gradually returns—symbolizing joy and renewal.
In one vibrant scene, Da’Ville is seen behind the wheel of a teal classic Ford Galaxie convertible, smiling as children run alongside the car through a sunny neighborhood. The energy is light and familial, reinforcing the message of brighter days ahead.
Da’Ville said his decision to leave the industry stemmed from a mix of creative conflict, business fallout, and feeling sidelined. “I left New York, walked away from my label, my management—everything,” he said. “But I chose me. I chose joy. I chose faith. I chose the fans who never stopped believing.”
His last release was “To Jireh” in 2023, his first Christian/Gospel/Kingdom song after converting to Christianity.
Even while away from the spotlight, Da’Ville continued to write and record. “Sunshine Days” represents not just a return, but an evolution. According to his manager Wendy Morgan, “Da’Ville has grown tremendously, both personally and artistically. It’s an honor to help bring this moment to life.”
AMP Music executive Askia described the single as a reflection of Da’Ville’s authenticity. “His truth, his voice, and his spirit are all over this song. We’re proud to stand behind him.
