Power 105 Breakfast Club’s DJ Envy took his wife and six children to Rohan Marley‘s Beach house in Mexico. The luxury vacation property, Rohan Marley told WMV is part of a collection of in partnership with The Marley Coffee brand, which was launched in the middle of the pandemic in July 2020 along with two cafes in Mexico at the Fives Beach Hotel and Residences.

The Rohan Marley Beach House which forms part of the collection of properties, Rohan says came through his Marley coffee relationship. Located Just 15 minutes from the Cancun International Airport and he hopes one day it will become a family business.
“Its not really that everything I do is family, it’s that everything I do is family,” he said wittingly.
Other celebrity guests to visit the Beach House include Ray Lewis, Cynthia Bailey and Eva Marcille.
Rohan detailed his entrepreneurial journey in an exclusive interview with WMV.
“I took all 8 volumes of my Dad’s publishing rights, there are 8 volumes, and I said I need to learn this. While I was learning, I introduced my family to a lawyer, I learned everything regarding my father’s business,” he said.
What he discovered and suggested next became a hot commodity in every craft market and gift shop accross the Caribbean and the world. He made Bob Marley wearables owned by the family.
“I was like yo we need to create our own T-shirt company, what are we doing licensing to people? So I was instrumental in formulating Zion RootsWear, my sister was there but I pushed that idea. We made a deal and started creating our own T-Shirt company that produce the Bob Marley T-Shirt.”
Everything the father to 5 of legendary singer Lauryn Hill’s children does, he says he does it in the name of his family, and that includes his individual pursuit of becoming a coffee farmer.
“Marley Coffee is something I created out of my own head,” He said.
To kick start the pursuit of being a coffee farmer, he purchased a piece of land in Portland Jamaica with USD$200,000 he earned from Bob’s music royalties.
Since then it has been quite a truck load to making Marley Coffee company a successful business and brand. After encountering problems getting an export license and a series of serendipitous events he fostered a deal to source additonally coffee beans in Ethiopia so the business could compete globally.
With his hads in every part of the business from setting up tastings at Whole Foods, to being the talent in the advertisements, his dream of becoming a coffee farmer almost came to an end numerous times.
“I told my family that I am going to create Marley Coffee, I am gonna put my face and my signature, so I am the Marley, Rohan Marley. I said to my sister if it works it’s a family business, if it fails, you blame me…It kinda failed and worked at the same time, I went through the failures so my family can now have all the success,” he said
“First year I did $3000, second year $8000, next year $1.2 million dollars, then 3 sumn odd million then 6 million then 13 million, and now its a family business, the family is in charge of it now, I am just the director of business development in the family and I continue to grow,” he explained.
