Hold your horses , the tracklist for DJ Khaled’s God Did once again features a slew of Jamaica reggae and dancehall acts. Other than the familiar favorites from his last two albums, Khaled added one new generation anthem maker from Jamaica to his project set to drop Friday (August 26).
Again, instead of spreading the dancehall acts across the 18 track album, the “I Am So Hood” DJ packed track 14 with Skillibeng, Sizzla, Capleton, Bounty Killer, and Buju Banton.
On the Rocnation artist’s last album Khaled Khaled, the track Where You Come From had Buju Banton, Barrington Levy, Capleton, and Bounty Killer.
Khaled’s forthcoming thirteenth studio album also features Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem, SZA, Rick Ross, Roddy Ricch, Quavo, Takeoff, Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, Drake, and many more.
He posted the info on instagram with the caption “I want to thank EVERYONE who believed. On this album and beyond. THANK YOU!
This album is special. This #GODDID AUG 26TH! Let me be clear, there’s a lot of things that can happen in the next 24 hours #GODDID THIS FRIDAY @wethebestmusic”
Khaled Khaled debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album chart.
According to Luminated (formerly Nielsen MRC Data), the album moved 93,000 equivalent units including 14,000 actual sales and 76,000 streaming equivalents (from just under 107 million plays).
“The album is doing better on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music than on sites like iTunes, which speaks to the listening habits of the DJ’s fans,” according to Forbes.com.
It was Khaled’s third number one on the Billboard 200 chart. He previously hit the mark with Grateful and Major Key and has been getting praises for his marketing efforts from industry players for this latest project.
The Grammy winning artist once again took the trek to Jamaica to shoot the album cover, record verses and film music videos for his project this time around, like he did the last three albums. He and his team stayed at the exquisite USD$125,000 /week Rio Chico resort owned by Sandals Caribbean, which he calls “The Holy Mountain ”.
