Jamaican selectors DJ Mac and DJ Baba are taking their sound to Europe for the first time, embarking on a multi-city run that puts the duo before audiences at some of the continent’s major reggae festivals and events.
The tour begins in Spain, where the pair are billed for Rototom Sunsplash in Benicàssim on August 19, before heading to Germany for the Summer Vibez All White Beach Party at Beach Neukölln in Berlin on August 23.
Their European run continues in Slovakia with an appearance at Uprising Festival in Bratislava, scheduled for August 28-29, before returning to Germany for Ruhr Reggae Summer Festival in Mülheim an der Ruhr, which runs from August 28-30.
The bookings mark another step in the international growth of the Jamaican DJ duo, who have become fixtures on the island’s entertainment circuit.
DJ Mac and DJ Baba have appeared together at numerous events in Jamaica in recent years, building a reputation around dancehall juggling and their ability to command party crowds. The Jamaica Star’s entertainment listings have repeatedly featured the pair together, including appearances at events such as FRi-NALLY, Roll Out and Dancehall Krowd.
Their presence on the local circuit stretches back several years. In 2023, they were among the DJs selected for dancehall artiste Valiant’s first stage show in St Elizabeth, alongside DJ Biigy, with the event also featuring a slate of emerging and established Jamaican acts.
By December 2024, DJ Mac and DJ Baba were again billed together for FRi-NALLY’s fifth anniversary celebration in Kingston, alongside Bishop Escobar.
They have remained active in 2026. In May, the Jamaica Observer listed DJ Mac and DJ Baba alongside Bishop Escobar as the selectors charged with driving the music at the Dragon Fyah Wenzdez series in Kingston.
The European dates now give the duo an opportunity to translate that presence on Jamaica’s party scene to an international reggae and dancehall audience.
The tour also comes amid wider international activity under the WYFL banner. Earlier this year, DJ Mac and DJ Baba were billed for a WYFL Tour event in Maryland in the United States, while promotional material has also surfaced for a WYFL Tour stop in Tokyo later in 2026.
For DJ Mac and DJ Baba, the European run represents more than a string of overseas bookings. With stops spanning Spain, Germany and Slovakia, it places two DJs developed in Jamaica’s contemporary party culture directly in front of the international audiences that continue to sustain reggae and dancehall across Europe.
And with Rototom Sunsplash, Uprising Festival and Ruhr Reggae Summer among the names on the itinerary, their first European tour signals an expanding international chapter for the pair.
