Doja Cat and The Weeknd’s sensual duet “You Right” has officially crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify as of October 7, 2025.

Released on June 25, 2021, through Kemosabe and RCA Records, “You Right” served as the second single from Doja Cat’s Grammy-nominated album Planet Her. The song blends Doja’s melodic R&B stylings with The Weeknd’s signature nocturnal soul, producing a sleek, atmospheric confession of temptation and desire.

The collaboration came together unexpectedly. According to Doja Cat, she initially played The Weeknd a different track she believed would be perfect for them. But once he heard “You Right,” he became “obsessed,” insisting that was the one.

“He was obsessed with it, and that’s kind of all I wanted — a really good reaction,” Doja told Billboard. “It’s a beautiful, beautiful song.”

The final cut replaced one of Doja’s verses with The Weeknd’s, while the deluxe edition of Planet Her later included the extended version featuring her original second verse.

Chart Success and Global Reception

Upon release, “You Right” was a commercial and critical success. It peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart, while reaching the top 15 in more than ten countries. The track’s sleek production by Dr. Luke and its cosmic R&B tone drew praise from critics, with Entertainment Weekly calling it a “slow-rolling infidelity anthem” and NME describing it as a “dreamy duet”.

As of 2025, the song has earned: 2× Platinum certification in the U.S. (RIAA), 2× Diamond in Brazil, Multi-Platinum or Gold certifications across 15 countries, including Canada, Australia, and the U.K.

Directed by Quentin Deronzier, the accompanying music video sees Doja appearing as a Greek goddess-like figure in the clouds, battling between loyalty and temptation. Her Libra zodiac sign is represented by golden scales, while The Weeknd’s Aquarius symbol appears when he pours water over her from the heavens.

The video has since amassed over 360 million views on YouTube, celebrated for its lush visuals, astrology symbolism, and cinematic storytelling.
