Drake and PartyNextDoor are gearing up for the highly anticipated release of their collaborative album, Some Sexy Songs 4 U (stylized as $ome $exy $ongs 4 U or $$$4U), set to drop on February 14, 2025, via OVO Sound and Sony Music. The project, a follow-up to their previous solo albums—Drake’s For All the Dogs (2023) and PartyNextDoor’s PartyNextDoor 4 (2024).
On February 10, Drake unveil the official cover art on his social media featuring himself at Party in mink coats in-front the Absolute World residential condominium twin tower skyscraper complex in the five-tower Absolute City Centre development in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
A Decade in the Making
Drake and PartyNextDoor’s collaborative history dates back to 2013, when the Mississauga-born singer-songwriter became the first artist signed to Drake’s OVO Sound label. Since then, the duo has delivered numerous fan-favorite tracks, with PND contributing to Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late (2015), More Life (2017), and Certified Lover Boy (2021), while Drake has appeared on standout PartyNextDoor records like Recognize and Come and See Me.
The buzz surrounding Some Sexy Songs 4 U intensified last summer when Drake made a surprise appearance at PND’s Toronto show on August 2, performing an exclusive R&B set before announcing the album. “On behalf of me and Party, we’ve been working on something for y’all. When it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be waiting right there for you,” Drake told the crowd.
In the months following, cryptic social media posts, snippets, and club previews fueled speculation about the project’s direction. By November, OVO Sound engineer Noel Cadastre confirmed the album was in its final stages, while PartyNextDoor hinted that the tracklist could feature 15 songs.
The album’s release comes amid Drake’s ongoing legal battle with Universal Music Group (UMG). In November 2024, the rapper accused UMG and Spotify of artificially inflating Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us streams during their high-profile feud. The lawsuit, now revised as a defamation claim, has added an extra layer of intrigue to Some Sexy Songs 4 U’s launch, positioning it as not just an album release but a statement.
Despite the controversy, Drake has remained focused on the music. On February 9, he teased a new song titled Crying in Chanel, while a promotional skit starring comedians Jermaine and Trevaunn Richards was released on February 10, adding a playful touch to the album’s seductive theme.
