Canadian rapper and global superstar Drake has earned 27 new music certifications in Brazil by Pro-Música Brasil, the IFPI organization responsible for music certifications in that country. The organization started issuing Gold, Platinum, and Diamond certifications in 1990 upon request from record labels who submit verification.
Spanning several of his acclaimed albums, Scorpion leads with six certified tracks: “I’m Upset,” “Elevate,” “In My Feelings,” “Don’t Matter To Me,” “Nice For What,” and “God’s Plan.” Views follows with five hits: “Controlla,” “Too Good,” “Hotline Bling,” “One Dance,” and “Fire & Desire.”
Certified Lover Boy also boasts five tracks: “Fair Trade,” “Way 2 Sexy,” “Girls Want Girls,” “Laugh Now Cry Later,” and “In The Bible.” Dark Lane Demo Tapes adds four certified songs: “Toosie Slide,” “Chicago Freestyle,” “Desires,” and “Pain 1993.” If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and Nothing Was the Same each contribute two tracks: “Energy” and “Jumpman” from the former, and “Started From The Bottom” and “Hold On, We’re Going Home” from the latter.
Additionally, More Life offers “Fake Love” and “Portland,” while “Money In The Grave” from The Best in the World Pack and the standalone single “What’s Next” round out the list.
Sales certification takes into account all consumption formats, encompassing physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming access via audio and video streaming, weighted based on the relative value of each consumption method according to the TEA (track equivalent album) methodology, adopted internationally with streaming/download/physical sales conversion factors periodically reviewed.
