Drake Postpones Remaining Dates On Australia Tour

Drake has postponed four of his sold-out shows in Australia and New Zealand, citing a scheduling conflict, according to a Rolling Stone Magazine.

“We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,” the statement reads. “All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon.

We look forward to sharing the rescheduled dates with you as soon as possible.”

The ‘Anita Max Win Tour’ had upcoming stops at Auckland’s Spark Arena on March 15 and 16, along with a Brisbane show on March 4 and an extra Sydney stop on March 7. The tour has already hit Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, including a rare Perth performance, marking Drake’s first show in Western Australia since 2015.

The visit coincided with Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, where Lamar made a bold statement in their ongoing feud by rocking a diamond chain with a lowercase ‘a’ (as in “A minor”) and performing his Drake-diss track “Not Like Us” in front of over 100 million viewers.

The song is currently the subject of a lawsuit against Univeral Music Group filed by Drake for defamation of character.

On February 24, Drake’s attorney Michael J. Gottlieb submitted a 4-page response to UMG’s letter motion OPPOSING UMG’s request to pause the April 2 pretrial conference scheduled by Judge Vargas.
Drake’s legal team claims UMG’s request is an attempt to circumvent the rules of the court.

Gottlieb stated that Drake “continue to suffer,” specifically after the Super Bowl.

Despite the tour changes and lawsuit, Drake’s surprise collab album with PARTYNEXTDOOR$ome $exy $ongs 4 U, marked his first chart-topping project since last year’s rap battle with Kendrick. The album became his 14th Billboard No. 1 album matching Jay-Z and Taylor swift.

While in Australia, he also performed a 90-minute secret set at a Bourke St hotspot for just 100 fans, featuring unreleased tracks and deep cuts. He later hit up Maison Batard’s Le Club in Melbourne for an ultra-exclusive, phone-free, all-expenses-paid party with his crew.

The ‘Anita Max Win Tour’ is named after a viral moment from Drake’s Kick livestream in December 2023, where he introduced his alter ego “Anita Max Win”, a play on the gambling term “I need a max win”—referring to the highest possible payout on a slot machine.
