The rapper who is the brother of British Jamaican rapper Stefflon Don found fame with the single released September 2020. The Snatchy directed music video has surpassed 22 million views on YouTube.
Dutchavelli’s mixtape ‘Dutch From The 5th’ is now certified Silver in the U.K. for selling more than 60,000 units in that country according to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) as measured by the Official Charts Company.
The street rapper is among a new wave of U.K. artist who are making waves by using Jamaican and African influences in their music on YouTube to launch their careers and stream on the platforms. Others include Stormzy, Dave, Haadie One, Digga D, Central Cee, Shayboo, Aitch and more.
Other major acts with distinct Jamaican dancehall influence include BMI rapper Stefflon Don, and Jorja Smith whose debut studio album, Lost & Found, peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart.
