After selling out two nights at the UBA Arena in New York, Buju Banton has rescheduled 5 dates and cancelled one on his The Overcomer Tour in September. The dancehall deejay announced on his social media saying, “I would like to inform you that the Overcomer Tour is not canceled! I can’t wait to see you all!”

The rescheduled dates are September 12, 15, 18, and 29, covering stops at the Toyota Center in Houston and the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas; the Footprints Center in Phoenix, Arizona; the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California; and the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. However, the San Jose leg of the tour, originally scheduled for September 23 at the SAP Center, has been canceled.

Banton stated, “Shiloh Band and I are looking forward to an incredible time with all of you!”

The concert tour is promoted by AG Touring, a Black-owned company, in association with Gargamel Music and XO Management. This tour marks Buju’s first arena tour in the US, with each stop expecting a crowd of over 15,000.

However, a source from Banton’s team told WMV that the rescheduled dates was due to slower sales than the others. The touring team is using the extended time to further promote the events which will be held at the same venues.

The remaining 8 confirmed dates begin on August 23 at the Amerant Bank Arena in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and concludes on November 17 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. It will be the first time a reggae act headlines the state-of-the-art, 19,000-seat Brooklyn venue.

Buju recently told DJ EFN and N.O.R.E. of Drink Champs that the if there was only thing he could do over it would be, “To make sure these motherf**kers know that dancehall is here to stay forever and that reggae music is here to live forever.
