Dancehall’s top streaming female star Shenseea will be bringing her “Never Gets Late Here Tour” to Jamaica. The event will take place at Plantation Cove St. Ann on September 27 and will come at the tail end of her North American tour promoted by William Morris Endeavor (WME) and Live Nation.

The Jamaican leg of the Never Gets Late Here Tour is promoted by her co-manager Romeich Entertainment.

Shenseea’s second studio album, “Never Gets Late Here,” sold 3,000 US units, combining streams and sales, in its first week of release, according to data obtained exclusively by WMV from sources at Universal Music Group (UMG).

Sections of the media reported wrongly that the album which debuted at No. 4 on the US Billboard Reggae Albums Chart dated June 7, 2024 “sold approximately 2000 units in the US.”

The Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records release has achieved the highest first-week sales for a dancehall album by a female artist in the past two years. Additionally, “Never Gets Late Here” amassed 6 million on-demand streams worldwide within its first six days of release, according to data provided to WMV by our correspondents at UMG.

According to UMG’s sales and streams data, “Work Me Out” (featuring Nigerian singer Wizkid) earned 1.8 million on-demand streams worldwide within the first three days, making it the highest-streamed single from the album during its debut week.

The song boasts a Likely Listener Frequency (LF%) of 61%, reflecting that her dedicated ShenYeng fanbase played it the most from the album during the week.

“Hit & Run” was the second most-streamed song during the week, with 900,000 on-demand streams. The music video for the track has surpassed 52 million views on YouTube. The song has surpassed 12 million streams on Spotify globally.

Globally, most people listened to the album via Spotify and Apple Music.

According to Universal Music Group’s sales data, the “Neva Neva” singer has surpassed 680 million on-demand streams across 130 singles in her UMg catalog, more than any other female Jamaican-born artist with songs released in the last five years. Of that total, over 200 million streams were obtained in the US since she signed with the record label.

On the day of her album’s release, her catalog saw 1.6 million worldwide streams, a 165% increase from the previous week.

In the US, Shenseea’s catalog experienced a 200% increase in streams the week “Never Gets Late Here” was released.
