Sean Paul‘s fiery latin feature “Fuego” with French record producer DJ Snake, Brazilian sensation Anitta, featuring the Puerto Rican record producer Tainy has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.
The song released in the summer of 2019, was the second single released DJ Snake’s second studio album, Carte Blanche, and was simultaneously released as a single.
The imaginative official music video for the song directed by award-winning Colin Tilley has surpassed 68 million views on YouTube. It was filmed in Los Angeles, with old circus backdrops, mirrors, fire tunnels, and dancers doing water splashes.
Anitta performed “Fuego” for the first time at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, in 2019 and generated anticipation for the new track. At the time she told the audience, “This song is important to me for a number of reasons. Firstly, DJ Snake is considered one of the greatest DJs of the moment. […] He is extremely giant, has several hits that the whole Brazil dances, sings, memes, viralizes. […] And because I have Sean Paul, Sean Paul, he was part of my life story, I grew up listening to Sean Paul.”
Sean was nominated for Crossover Artist Of The Year, at this year’s Latin Billboard Music Awards where he is up against Justin Timberlake, Marshmello, Lil Jon and Maitré Gims. The grammy award winning Jamaican Superstar said recently that he has been trying to break into the latin community for a number of years.
His nomination comes after his single Niña Bonita with Columbian singer Feid reached No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay Chart. On the song Sean sings in both Spanish and English.
Still on Fuego, the song hit the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, entering at No. 40 during the week of August 10, 2019, even before the video’s release. Once the music video dropped on October 10, 2019, it garnered nearly 300,000 views in just over an hour and reached 500,000 views in less than two hours.
