New York rapper Sheck Wes took to instagram to commented directly under Ye’s (formerly Kanye West) post saying, “You stole my whole cadence, flow, beat, tempo to get #1 u delusional.” This after Ye made a post going off on Drake, Kendrick and others saying,“Everyone knows I washed Kendrick on no more parties in LA. Everyone knows I washed Drake at the free hoover concert. Everyone knows I brought Adidas into this culture and I took them out.” The unprovoked Thursday afternoon brag continued in bold caps, “EVERYONE KNOWS I BROUGHT ADIDAS INTO THIS CULTURE AND I TOOK THEM OUT, EVERYONE KNOWS LOTTA DEMNA VIRGIL JERRY KIM ALL WORKED FOR ME. I MADE YEEZUS DARK FANTASY PABLO GRADUATION THRONE 808S, I MADE RUNAWAY DEVIL IN A NEW DRESS FATHER STRETCH. I AM THE ONLY PERSON TO COME BACK TO NUMBER ONE AFTER CANCELLATION. THERE IS ONLY ONE GOAT. I STAND BY ME. MY FRIENDS CALL ME YE :)”
The 46 year old posted Sheck Wes’ music on his instagram stories following Wes’ comments. Wes, a basketballer, but known mostly for 5x Platinum song “Mo Bamba” signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music and Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Records in 2018. He appeared on Scott’s album “Astroworld” and released his debut studio album “Mudboy” shortly after. In 2019, he began working on his second studio album. He also collaborated on the Cactus Jack compilation album “JackBoys.” In 2020, he released singles “Rich One Day” and “#BeenBallin.” In 2021, he released “GFU” with YSL Records. Additionally, Wes had guest vocals on Travis Scott’s song “Fe!n.”
Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s collaborative album “Vultures 1” debuted at the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart dated February 24, marking Ye’s 11th chart-topper and Ty Dolla $ign’s first. The independently released album earned 148,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week ending February 15. It’s the first independent rap album to top the chart since Trippie Redd’s “A Love Letter to You 4” in 2019. Kanye West left his deal with Universal after completing a 10-album contract with Def Jam Records in 2021.
“Vultures 1” features Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and Chris Brown, with Ye’s daughter North contributing vocals. “Vultures 1” was initially only available through streaming services and digital downloads.
