Grammy Award-winning artist Estelle is set to bring her soulful energy to the Mouttet Mile Invitational, a premier event happening at Caymanas Park, St. Catherine today December 7.
Launched in 2022, the Mouttet Mile Invitational is now in its third year and has quickly become a highlight of the region’s sporting calendar. This world-class horse racing event showcases 16 elite thoroughbreds, aged three and older, competing for an impressive purse of US$250,000—the richest prize in horse racing across the English-speaking Caribbean.
Estelle, known for her collaboration with reggae star Tarrus Riley on “Love Like Ours”, will add a captivating musical touch to the event at Jamaica’s premier racing venue. The British singer, rapper, and actress of Senegalese descent has also worked with global icons like Kanye West, Chris Brown, and Nas.
Her debut album, The 18th Day (2004), reached No. 35 on the UK Official Chart, while her second album, Shine (2008) reached No. 6 propelling her to international fame, largely due to the Grammy-winning hit “American Boy” featuring Kanye West. That song has surpassed 800 million streams on Spotify and the music video has 264 million views on YouTube. Her third album, All of Me (2012), reached No. 28 on the Billboard 200, and earned her a Grammy nomination for the single “Thank You.”
Estelle has also made a mark in voice acting as the voice of Garnet in Steven Universe and its related projects. Beyond music and animation, she has appeared in films like Beyond the Lights (2014) and Girls Trip (2017). She currently hosts The Estelle Show on Apple Music, which has surpassed 500 episodes.
