Reggae-dancehall star I-Octane has released his new single Walk With A Chip from his album God & I, a project that has held a steady place in the Top 10 of the iTunes Reggae chart for four consecutive months. With Grammy submissions now underway, God & I has positioned itself as one of the albums to watch in the 2025 Best Reggae Album category in a year when a handful of albums made their mark.

Produced by Zum of Good Good Productions alongside I-Octane’s Conquer The Globe Productions and distributed globally by Music Xchange, “Walk With A Chip” carries the emotional weight of betrayal, resilience, and perseverance.

“This song is me being real with my fans. We all have a ‘chip’ we walk with—memories, pain, experiences we can’t erase. Mine came from trusting people I thought had my back, but they didn’t. Instead of letting it break me, I use it to push harder and go further,” I-Octane explained.

Zum praised the track’s raw honesty:
“From the first time I heard I-Octane deliver this, I knew it was special. It’s the kind of song people will feel because it’s honest and relatable. That’s why it connects.”

Industry Impact and Grammy Momentum

With God & I, I-Octane balances introspection and social commentary with his signature high-energy delivery, presenting a full-bodied project that has resonated with both core reggae-dancehall fans and international audiences.

“This is authentic Jamaican music, the message is real and universal, and the fact that it’s on a beat with that real yardie vibe makes it a global hit. We’re proud to bring it to audiences worldwide,” Music Xchange stated about the global reach of the project

In the context of Grammy season, I-Octane’s God & I stands alongside other 2025 releases such as Baby Cham’s Sherlock, Valiant’s “Prove Them Wrong (Sony) and several others. as one of the few reggae albums demonstrating both iTunes chart traction and artistic depth but since the Grammys are about voting, the Best Reggae Album category remains highly competitive, with veterans and newcomers alike in contention.
