UK star Stefflon Don has declared Nigerian hitmaker Burna Boy to be the love of her life.
In an interview on the Netherlands music platform Real Talk, she revealed, “I am romantic, want to get married, I love life” before discussing her relationship history with Burna Boy. “Everyone knows the story, I used to talk about that all the time.”
When the host Fernando Halman asked if he (Burna) is the love of her life, the “Hurting Me” singer responded with dreamy eyes and soft words saying, “Is he the love of my life? Yes!”
She also admitted that she is currently in a relationship, but didn’t confirm other or not it I with Burna Boy, “This one I am not going to show, not yet. I’m not going to say who he is. You might know him; you might not.”
In 2022 Burna Boy released the breakout hit “Last Last” which is certified Platinum in the US. The song was rumored to be about his relationship with Stefflon Don which ended 2021.
On the real talk interview Stefflon said Burna Boy admitted the song was about her. “He has actually said that the song is about me.
In a 2022 interview on Hot 97 with TT Torez, Stefflon Don confirmed they were together for two and a half years. At the time TT suggested the song “Last Last” was about Stefflon, to which she coyly responded, “Whatever you think is what it is.” She however mentioned inaccuracies in the song and clarified they had broken up a year ago, adding she would not date anyone in the music industry again.
Stefflon also spoke about leaving Atlanta-based record label QC to go independent, which has been successful for her. Her debut album, “54 London,” a blend of Caribbean and Afro vibes released June 28, 2024 has so far surpassed 10 million streams on Spotify.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy’s “Last Last” was certified 2x Platinum in the UK yesterday July 12 for sale surpassing 1,200,000 equivalent units. The song is Platinum in Australia (70,000 units), 2× Platinum in Canada (160,000 units), Gold in Denmark (45,000 units), Diamond in France (333,333 units), Platinum in New Zealand (30,000 units), 3× Platinum in Nigeria (300,000 units), Platinum in Switzerland (20,000 units). Additionally, it has reached Platinum streaming status in Sweden (8,000,000 streams).
