Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang has reportedly admitted to being unfaithful to his wife amid allegations that he was targeted by a Chinese intelligence operation, prompting the technology giant’s board of directors to launch an independent investigation.
According to a report published by ZeroHedge, citing Bloomberg and the Financial Times, Huang acknowledged the affair in an internal memorandum to Nvidia employees following reports that U.S. intelligence officials believe he had a romantic relationship with Alice Huang, an executive at Megaspeed International who is suspected by American intelligence of having been recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security.
The allegations have raised questions about corporate security, potential foreign influence and the protection of sensitive American artificial intelligence technology.
Huang Reportedly Acknowledges Affair
In the reported memorandum to Nvidia employees, Huang admitted to marital infidelity and expressed regret over the impact on his family.

Huang’s reported statement:
“I was unfaithful to my wife. My actions hurt her and our children. There is no excuse for what I did.”
Huang also reportedly described himself as “deeply sorry” and pledged his full cooperation with the company’s independent investigation.
Addressing concerns about national security, he reportedly added:
“I love our country and our company, and I am committed to protecting Nvidia and supporting America’s national security.”
Despite the controversy, Huang is expected to remain Nvidia’s chief executive while the board conducts its review.
Nvidia Board Orders Independent Investigation
In a statement attributed to Nvidia’s board of directors on Sunday, the company announced that independent directors, supported by outside legal counsel, would examine the allegations.
Full statement attributed to the NVIDIA Board of Directors:
Statement from NVIDIA Board of Directors
The NVIDIA Board is initiating an independent investigation in light of recent reporting that founder and CEO Jensen Huang has been the target of a foreign intelligence effort.
A committee of independent directors, assisted by outside independent counsel, will oversee the investigation.
The Board prioritizes U.S. national and economic security, which is paramount to the interests of NVIDIA and its shareholders.
While the Board has no reason to believe that either national security or NVIDIA secrets were compromised, the Board’s inquiry will examine all available information.
Jensen fully supports the review and has committed to cooperating with it.
The Board has confidence in Jensen and his leadership team and will provide further updates as appropriate.
The statement indicates that the board has not identified evidence that Nvidia’s proprietary information or American national security interests were compromised.
U.S. Intelligence Allegedly Identified Chinese Espionage Concerns
The Financial Times revealed that American intelligence officials had prepared a memorandum describing a romantic relationship between Huang and Alice Huang.
According to the reporting, intelligence officials suspected that Alice Huang had been recruited to gather information about Nvidia’s leadership, advanced semiconductor technology and U.S. export restrictions.
The New York Times also reportedly described intelligence assessments linking Alice Huang to China’s Ministry of State Security.
The allegations have not been established in a public judicial proceeding, and the Chinese Embassy has rejected the reporting as unsubstantiated.
Alice Huang has not publicly responded to the specific allegations in the material reviewed by WMV.
Congressional Leaders Demand Answers
The controversy has also reportedly attracted attention from senior Republican lawmakers overseeing foreign affairs, intelligence and strategic competition with China.
According to the reports, the chairmen of three congressional committees have requested that Huang participate in a closed-door briefing on November 18, one day after Nvidia’s scheduled earnings announcement.
The lawmakers reportedly want answers about the nature of his relationship with Alice Huang, possible intelligence vulnerabilities and whether sensitive technology or corporate information could have been exposed.
Huang has reportedly been given until November 11 to confirm whether he will attend.
Nvidia’s China Business Under Scrutiny
The controversy comes amid longstanding disagreements in Washington over the export of advanced artificial intelligence chips to China.
Nvidia has advocated allowing certain semiconductor sales to Chinese customers, arguing that continued American participation in the Chinese market could help maintain U.S. technological influence.
However, national security officials have expressed concerns that advanced AI processors could strengthen China’s military capabilities and intelligence infrastructure.
Megaspeed International, the company associated with Alice Huang, has reportedly developed data centres in Southeast Asia and acquired significant quantities of advanced computing equipment.
U.S. authorities have scrutinised whether such arrangements could provide Chinese customers with access to restricted American technology.
Nvidia has previously said that its own review found no evidence of wrongdoing involving Megaspeed.
Questions Over Nvidia’s Leadership
The allegations arrive at a sensitive time for Nvidia, one of the world’s most valuable technology companies and a central supplier of hardware powering the global artificial intelligence industry.
According to the original reporting, Nvidia reached a market valuation approaching US$5.8 trillion in October before falling below US$5 trillion.
The company has not publicly announced succession plan for Huang, who has led Nvidia since its founding.
While the board has expressed confidence in his leadership, the investigation could intensify scrutiny from investors, regulators and lawmakers.
