Protoje

Protoje, The Green, Tropidelic, Surfer Girl, Mike Love, Beach Fly, Ras-I and Kash’d Out are among the artists featured in the label’s Grammy campaign.

Ineffable Records has put forward eight albums for consideration in the Best Reggae Album category at the Grammy Awards, highlighting the label’s growing presence in the international reggae music industry and its commitment to showcasing a diverse range of reggae sounds.

The submissions feature established reggae performers alongside emerging and contemporary acts, reflecting the genre’s continued evolution beyond its Jamaican roots into a thriving global movement.

Leading the campaign is Jamaican reggae star Protoje, whose album The Art of Acceptance has been submitted for Best Reggae Album consideration. Protoje, widely recognised as one of the leading figures in Jamaica’s reggae revival movement, continues to play an influential role in bringing contemporary Jamaican reggae to international audiences.

The label has also submitted Protoje’s At We Feet in the Best Global Music Performance category, giving the Jamaican artiste a presence across two Grammy consideration categories.

Among the other Best Reggae Album submissions is First Light by Tropidelic, a band known for blending reggae with elements of rock, hip-hop and alternative music. project represents the genre’s increasingly diverse musical landscape and its appeal to audiences across different musical communities.

Hawaiian reggae group The Green is also in contention with Titles. The band has built a strong following through its distinctive island reggae sound, combining traditional reggae influences with contemporary production and melodic arrangements.

Another submission comes from Surfer Girl, whose album Midnight joins the consideration list. The project adds to the growing representation of American reggae acts whose music draws inspiration from the Caribbean while incorporating alternative and modern influences.

Singer-songwriter Beach Fly is represented by Flying, while reggae musician Mike Love has submitted Teachers. Love is recognised for his spiritually conscious approach to reggae, incorporating messages of unity, environmental awareness and social responsibility into his music.

The label’s submissions also include Heart of Love by Ras-I, bringing another Jamaican voice into the campaign. Ras-I’s inclusion further strengthens the Caribbean representation within a field that reflects reggae’s increasingly international reach.

Completing the eight-album lineup is Kash’d Out with Mirage. The Florida-based reggae-rock band is among the acts contributing to the continued popularity of reggae-influenced music throughout North America.

A Growing International Reggae Presence

Ineffable Records has established itself as a significant player in the contemporary reggae industry, working with artists whose music spans roots reggae, island reggae, reggae-rock and other crossover styles.

The latest Grammy consideration campaign illustrates the label’s broad musical reach, with submissions representing artists from Jamaica, Hawaii and the mainland United States.

The presence of Jamaican acts such as Protoje and Ras-I alongside internationally established reggae performers also reflects the genre’s expanding global footprint.

Reggae, which originated in Jamaica and has become one of the country’s most influential cultural exports, continues to inspire musicians worldwide. The genre’s international popularity has contributed to a competitive Grammy landscape in which Jamaican performers increasingly share the spotlight with reggae acts from other territories.

Grammy Consideration Is Not a Nomination

Although the submissions represent an important promotional milestone for Ineffable Records and its artists, being submitted for Grammy consideration does not mean an album has received an official nomination.

The projects must first advance through the Recording Academy’s voting process before any can be announced among the official nominees.

For Ineffable Records, however, the eight-album campaign provides an opportunity to spotlight the depth of its reggae catalogue and the artists helping to shape the genre’s future.

With a lineup spanning established Jamaican talent, Hawaiian reggae favourites and emerging American acts, the label is positioning itself for recognition in one of the Grammy Awards’ most culturally significant music categories.

The ultimate outcome will depend on Recording Academy voters, but the submissions underscore reggae music’s enduring international influence and the increasingly diverse community of artists carrying the genre forward.
