Iration‘s 8th studio album ‘Daytrippin’ debuts at No. 10 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. This is the group’s 9th project overall to debut on the chart.
The album released on October 6, 2023 under the band’s 3 Prong Records sold less than 1000 units in streams and sales its first week according to Billboard and is lead by four singles; “New Style” which was first released on February 6, 2023, “IRL” (In Real Life” released on April 11 , and the album’s title track released on June 7. “Last Night,” featuring British Reggae singer Maxi Priest was released on September 9.
The only other guests on the 10 track project is Claire Wright on the track “Come Down”, and Micah Pueschel, one of the band members, described “Daytrippin” as ‘a return to their musical roots, finding a balance between polished studio production and the lively energy of their live performances,’ drawing inspiration from earlier albums like “Time Bomb” and “Hotting Up.”
Alongside with the album’s released, the group offered fans bundles of merchandise, including a splatter vinyl, CD, Daytrippin sweatshirt, and Daytrippin Decal.
‘Daytrippin’ is the top selling California reggae group’s lowest debut on the Billboard Reggae chart with previous releases like “Automatic” reaching number 1 on July 20, 2013, and spending 77 weeks on the chart. “Hotting Up” also reached number 1 on September 19, 2015, and spent 73 weeks on the chart. Their self-titled album “Iration” reached number 1 on June 2, 2018, and spent 54 weeks on the chart.
The RIAA Gold selling group’s other Billboard charting albums include “Time Bomb” which debuted at number 2 on March 27, 2010, and staying on the chart for 90 weeks. “Fresh Grounds (EP)” debuted at number 3 on February 19, 2011, and spent 17 weeks on the chart, and “Double Up” debuted at number 2 on December 24, 2016, and stayed on the chart for 13 weeks. More recently, “Backyard Sessions: Malibu Edition,” re-entered the chart but it had debuted at number 8 on December 3, 2022. “Time Bomb” re-entered the chart at number 9 on March 17, 2018, and “Coastin'” entered at number 2 on July 25, 2020, though both had shorter chart runs, with 1 week each. Time Bomb also went to #1 on the Billboard’s Heatseekers albums list for the week of February 19, 2011.

- “Dutty Rock” by Sean Paul is at number seven.
- “No Love” by Byron Messia is in the eighth spot.
- “World On Fire” by Stick Figure rounds up the list in the ninth position.
