Puerto Rico Rauw Alejandro, is in Jamaica with producer Rvssian to make new music according to sources close to the matter. Rvssian shared a video welcoming his “Nostálgico” collaborator to the Island on Monday January 8 on his Instagram story at an undisclosed Villa on Jamaica’s North Coast.
Raúl Alejandro is a global latin singer known as the “King of Modern Reggaeton,” with over 23 billion Spotify streams across his catalogue. He is part of the new generation of Puerto Rican urban musicians with a career spanning from 2014.
The 30 year old’s debut album “Afrodisíaco,” received two Latin Grammy Awards, two Billboard Latin Music Awards, an iHeart Radio Music Award, and more wins from 214 career nominations. He was 10th most streamed artist on Spotify in 2022.
Rauw’s Trap-Cake Vol 2 was nominated for Best Urban Music Album at the 2022 Latin Grammy Awards which has the song Red Velvet featuring Shenseea produced by Caleb Calloway, Rauw Alejandro and Mr. Naisgai with Rvssian securing writing credit.
Rvssian is also the track Fvck Ux2, and Ty Dolla $ign on No Drama on Trap Cake Volume 2.
Their biggest collaboration though is “Nostálgico,” the 2021 late summer hit produced by Rvssian featuring Rauw Alejandro and Chris Brown, which has surpassed 470 million streams on Spotify. Released by Sony Latin, the song became Rvssian’s most-streamed track on Spotify, and Alejandro’s 15th song to reach the milestone. The song was certified 5x Latin Platinum by the Recording Industry Association on March 2, 2022, for selling 300,000 units in the US.
The music video, directed by Edgar Esteves, has surpassed 100 million streams on YouTube six months ago.
