WMV – June 9, 2025
FIFA and Global Citizen have announced a powerhouse lineup for the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup™ Final Halftime Show, with J Balvin, Doja Cat, and Tems set to take center stage at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
The star-studded performance will be broadcast live and free on DAZN.com, marking a historic moment for global club football as the new 32-team tournament wraps up its debut edition. This show also sets the stage for the largest global reach ever for a club competition.
Curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay and produced by Global Citizen, the halftime show will spotlight the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund—a major philanthropic initiative aiming to raise USD 100 million to improve access to quality education and football for children worldwide. For every ticket sold during the U.S.-hosted tournament, one dollar will be donated to the fund.
STAR POWER MEETS GLOBAL PURPOSE
“From Medellín to MetLife – I’m honored to headline the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup Final,” said J Balvin. “It’s a historic moment – for me, for Latin culture, and for every kid who dreams big.”
Nigerian sensation Tems added, “We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment – to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children.”
Joining them is Doja Cat, the Grammy-winning, multi-platinum artist fresh off her headline at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the collaboration: “For the first-ever halftime show in a FIFA competition, we’re proud to partner with Global Citizen to bring together a global superstar lineup. Together, we’re investing in children’s futures through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”
Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans echoed the mission: “We can’t end extreme poverty without ensuring every child gets the education they deserve. We’re asking football fans everywhere to step up, get involved, and be part of the movement driving real change.”
A NEW ERA FOR CLUB FOOTBALL
The new FIFA Club World Cup will run from June 14 to July 13, 2025, across 12 venues in 11 U.S. cities, bringing together the world’s top 32 club teams. The final, hosted at MetLife, promises to be one of the most watched club football matches in history.
The halftime show will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, with executive producers Guy Carrington, Hamish Hamilton, and Dave Meyers. Production partners include Live Nation, Done+ Dusted, and DPS.
Looking ahead, Global Citizen is also set to produce the first-ever FIFA World Cup™ Final Halftime Show in 2026, also to be held in New York/New Jersey. More details on that milestone event will follow.
