Multi-platinum Hawaiian singer Jack Johnson’s latest project “In Between Dubs” debuts at No. 4 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart for the week of June 17, 2023. The 11 track album released June 2, 2023 features collaborations with Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Subatomic Sound System, Dennis Bovell, Scientist, Nightmares on Wax, Monk, Yaadcore and Mad Professor.
The album which was released digitally as well as on Vinyl spawns the single “Traffic In The Sky” with Lee Scratch Perry x Subatomic Sound System Dub released March 23, 2023. It sold Jack Johnson’s “In Between Dubs.” It has so far sold 3.5K album equivalent units along with first week equivalent of 2K according to data provided to WMV by sales trackers Luminate.
Of that amount 1.1K units pure copies have been sold.
“In Between Dubs” is the Universal Records artist’s interpretation of songs in reggae past, a trend that has been taking shape in the music industry with Michael Goldwasser of Easy Star records reimagining several reggae and pop songs from legendary artists.
Still on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, “No Love” – Byron Messia spends a second week on the chart but slips to 9 and after debuting at No. 8 last week. This week the album sold an additional 1.6K album equivalent units making it a total of 7K since it’s January 20 release date according to Luminate.
